People for H.O.P.E. (Harmony township Opposing Pollution of the Environment) is a loosely organized group that is against a coal waste dump being planned in the Township of Harmony in Vernon County, WI. We have formed this group to educate people and raise funds in the fight to prevent this waste site from being located here or anywhere.

Members of this group include landowners that are both directly and indirectly affected by Dairyland Power Cooperative’s decision to begin soil and water testing in the area. We are friends and neighbors that believe in responsible stewardship of the land and have decided that this economic and environmental impact will be too great and Dairyland must find alternatives to dumping the waste in our backyards or anyone else's. We are committed in our resolve to stand firm against this threat.
